Margaret River Hospitality Group Executive Chef Tony Howell host on Fresh TV
Margaret River Hospitality Group Executive Chef Tony Howell stars in WA's newest cooking and lifestyle show that uncovers some of the best places to eat in the West.
The first episode of the 13-part series will be aired in Western Australia on Seven Perth and GWN7 before the news at 5.30pm Saturday 12 November, and aired nationally on 7Two (check local guides for details).
Executive Producer James Hayward says Howell is a major player in Fresh TV and will host one or two segments each week.
“Tony is an amazing talent and works exceptionally well for television. His get up and go friendly persona make him a natural choice. He’s also highly regarded in his field and brings an air of credibility to the program,” says Hayward.
“Food is an exciting and interesting experience for many and our program seeks to introduce them to both ‘the how’ and ‘the why’ of good food, its preparation as well as telling the stories of people behind the culinary creations.”
Along with Tony Howell, Fresh TV presenters are actor Myles Pollard, television reporter Jasmine Homer, Salt & Co cooking school owner Reanne D’Castro and The West Australian’s food critic Rob Broadfield.
Howell says that he loves life in front of the lens.
“I’ve always enjoyed chatting to people and presenting – whether it’s an intimate cooking class, a meet and greet with Tourism WA famil groups, media interviews or on the main stage at Margaret River Gourmet Escape,” says Howell.
“When James approached me for Fresh TV, I jumped at the chance to be a part of a series that focuses on Western Australian produce and stories.
“We filmed a segment at Rottnest Island – so beautiful there. We pulled up a fresh crayfish and cooked soon after – it doesn’t get any fresher than that. That’s always been my passion –seriously sensational local produce. To be able to share that with a national audience is exciting and it’s been heaps of fun to be a part of.”
Tony Howell is Executive Chef of the Margaret River Hospitality Group that owns Morries, White Elephant Beach Café and The Common. MRHG is also the exclusive caterer for luxury accommodation and functions venue, Willy Bay Resort.
