Perth Drag Queens headline Margi Gras proudly sponsored by The River Hotel
Never before seen in Margaret River, a fabulous troupe of five from Perth Drag Queens will put on a glittering show at the inaugural Margi Gras proudly sponsored by The River Hotel.
Margi Gras is a free inclusive event that celebrates equality for everyone and will be held on 10 February 2018 from 5pm to 8pm at the Margaret River Cultural Centre Lawns.
With amazing make-up, bigger-than-life hair and dazzling outfits, Perth Drag Queens Scarlet Adams, Veronica Jean Jones, Katya Kokov, Perri Oxide and Donna Kebab will put on an unforgettable family-friendly performance of hilarious songs, dance and comedy.
This is a warm up to their more risqué show at the Margi Gras After Party at The River Hotel.
“We are very excited to be performing in Margaret River and will be entertaining everyone with a collection of very gay songs, camp costumes and colourful wigs,” Perth Drag Queens Creative Director Scarlet Adams said.
“It’ll be a PG family friendly show at Margi Gras – which is a fantastic initiative by the way. We’re saving our adults only show for the after party!” Scarlet said, with a wink.
New major sponsor, The River Hotel, will host the Margi Gras After Party from 8pm until late.
The River Hotel Business Partner Phil Thompson said that he was thrilled to partner with Margi Gras.
“Margi Gras is a perfect fit for our region and I think it’s something that’s long overdue. It promotes Margaret River as a wedding destination as well as a place that treats everyone as equals, and we’re all for that,” Phil said.
The River Hotel is a new offering of an existing venue with a refurbishment that created a lighter space with a relaxed and family friendly atmosphere.
“We’re putting an emphasis on food with a fresh menu of interesting, unexpected dishes featuring local produce as well as some well-loved pub classics, thanks to our creative new head chef Hamish Mcleay,” Phil said.
The River Hotel menu declares exceptional value with all main meals $23 or less, the exception being the scotch fillet at $32 and market price for the grilled fish. There is also an extensive range of beer, wine and spirits including those locally made.
Tickets to the Margi Gras After Party at The River Hotel go on sale on Thursday 18 January 2018 and are expected to sell fast.
Margi Gras will include music, entertainment, drag queens, cool cars and the region’s first public legally-binding same-sex marriage.
