Back by popular demand, the Ord Valley Farmers FEASTival supported by Ord Co, is a showcase of the best regional produce in the Ord Valley held at the Muster Festival Hub in Kununurra on Wednesday 22 May 2019.
Part of the 10-day Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster, this year’s FEASTival program is bigger and better than ever and ticket prices have been slashed.
With entry set at an affordable price of $40 per person, event-goers will see cooking demonstrations from some master chefs, cooks and big personalities, taste samples, check out local produce, participate in food discussions and “munch” more.
Former Australian Cricketer and now star of his own national fishing TV show, Merv Hughes, will be taking exclusive fishing charters on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st May. It’s a charter where you'll be fed and watered while learning a thing or two about fishing and cooking your catch from the big guy himself. During FEASTival, Merv will be hitting the stage to talk about ripping Ord River catches and a few “mostly true” yarns.
From the Ord River to your plate, Indigenous chef Mark Olive will be demonstrating how to turn freshly caught Barramundi, thanks to Merv Hughes, into a tasty dish cooking with native ingredients and cooking over hot coals. He’ll also demonstrate how to make damper and show how it’s easier than you think.
Internationally awarded BBQ chef Jonathan Flannery is coming all the way from Ireland to tantalise your tastebuds with BBQ skills, tips and tricks that have won him competitions around the globe.
Western Australia’s Brendan Pang, a popular top ten contestant in MasterChef 2018, will be sharing his secrets for perfecting dumplings and answering your questions in his demonstration on the FEASTival main stage. He’ll also showcase some simple dishes using fresh Ord Valley produce.
During the ‘From Paddock to Plate Panel’ you’ll garner a true understanding thanks to the decades of experience from the panel of local farmers, agriculture experts and producers, as well as have an opportunity to get your questions answered.
There’s fabulous food from the local vendors and a licenced bar with locally brewed “Hoochery Distillery Rum” waiting for you at FEASTival.
The Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster features exciting events across 10 days and will be held in Kununurra and surrounds from 17 to 26 May 2019.
